⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mobile External Hard Drive Review
This external hard drive for smartphones has been the perfect solution for freeing up space and keeping my files safe. Data transfers are fast and smooth, even with large files like high-resolution videos. Just plug it in and it works instantly—no complicated setup required. It’s compatible with multiple operating systems (Android, iOS with an adapter, and even laptops), making it incredibly versatile. Its compact and lightweight design also makes it easy to carry around without taking up space. The build quality is excellent—solid and durable, ideal for daily use. It’s perfect for storing photos, videos, documents, or backups without relying on internal phone storage or the cloud.A must-have tool for content creators or anyone who needs more space on their device without sacrificing speed or convenience. Highly recommended!

Got Lucky With this One !
I have pretty beefy custom-built Gaming Rig.It has 3 – 2TB internal hard-drives (one an SSD) ,plus I have 2 USB-A, (3.2) external HDDs connected as well.I looked for another External USB-A hard drive but needed an SSD. Got very lucky with this one. It was fairly inexpensive (roughly $109 w/tax). The reason I say I ‘got lucky’ is b/c Kingston is a good brand plus everywhere I looked ,all the other external SSDs used USB-C connection w/o a USB-A adapter. I think most of the USB-C to USB-A adapters cost $15 and up. Which isn’t that big of a deal if you’re just gonna store pictures , music , movies, etc on it , but I mainly use it for installing and running video-games off it. Thing is , once you buy an external USB-C SSD , and use a USB-A adapter ,the data transfer speeds drops dramatically ( for a gamer that’s a deal breaker ) but since this one already connects directly to a USB-A port ,it’s a pretty darn fast external SSD.I’ve installed a few games on it since purchasing it and they run smooth & fast. Pretty amazing for an SSD that isn’t internally connected to you motherboard. Not sure if they’re still available ,but if they are ,even if you’re just a casual gamer , it’s a great purchase. However ,as I stated before ,if you’re not a gamer , this won’t matter to you much anyway.EDIT : When I purchased this SSD back in late January of ’25 , I paid $159. Today it’s $229 and that’s w/their “41% Off” ‘discount’. Original price without the “discount” is like $388. Thank God I bought it when I did as my ‘Indiana Jones” game (which is close to 150GB after installation) runs perfectly . Don’t have to use my main OS drive to install games anymore. Also , thank you all the “AI is the future” normies (thanks for nothing ,I mean) Thanks for building huge , power & water hungry A.I Data Centers. Without you (especially) PC hardware wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg plus our environment would be cleaner , that all of you ‘Tech Giants’ seemed to “care” about so much , less than 2 years ago.

    Linux secret mobile weapon
Great speed, I finally have a fast and pocketable drive to have linux on the move, I carry it everywhere and In can switch between nvidia or open source drivers depending on the computer, the computer just need to be UEFI andUSB 3.2 2×2 compatible. 500Gb is enough for this purpose. Great price too.

Don’t use included USB A to USB C adapter, mine was broken!
Beware: These come with a USB C to USB A cable, and an adapter to turn the USB A end into USB C. The drive refused to mount or get power until I removed the adapter. Very frustrating! Once my Macbook Air could see it, it was smooth sailing. Very fast, reliable, cool drive to turn my incredible M3 Air that came with a 250G drive (with 60% of it used up by MacOS) into a much more usable machine.

Kingston XS 2000 2 TB SSD- using with a Xbox One X game system
So far, so good! I purchased this unit to store video games on for my Xbox One X, so I don’t need to have internet access and download a game every time I want to play one. I just got it and have been downloading many games to it. So far it is working perfectly. I have been able to play games directly from the SSD, without having to load them onto the console. It’s actually only using half of the available speed. The Xbox One X only has 5Mbps USB A 3.0 capability. The only real challenge I had was finding a USB cable that is A 3.0 to C 3.2 but I did find one here on Amazon LDLRUI 10Gbps USB C Cable [2-Pack 3ft], Superspeed USB A to USB C Android Auto Cable, Fast Charging & Data Transfer USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C Charger Cord for Galaxy S24/S23/S22/S21, Moto G, iPhone 16/15 CarPlay . I have read using those adapters can and usually do cause a significant drop in speed to data transfers, so I didn’t want to go that route. The hottest the Kingston has gotten was during formatting. I was a little concerned. It cooled quickly after it finished. It hasn’t gotten nearly that hot during actual use. It does get warm during normal writing (downloading a large game, 80-100Gb) but it hasn’t even gotten that warm during game play. If this one continues to perform well, I am planning to purchase another one to use with my Playstation 4 Pro. I am happy with my purchase of this SSD so far.

    fast and easy to use
I’m not sure what to say other than WOW! this little SSD is so easy to use. My husband takes pictures of EVERYTHING so his phone gets overloaded with them. I plugged this little box into the phone, it recognized it right away and in just a few clicks I was downloading all his pictures to it. My god, it was fast too. Now all his pictures are safe and sound and he’s ready to take more.
