Fast External Storage for Next Gen Consoles
I bought this drive to supplement the storage capacity of my Xbox Series X for games that I play that are not Series X|S optimized. To that end it’s been perfect. Western Digital put some serious thought into the D30 that make it perfectly suited for this role of second tier external storage. It’s attractive negating the need to hide it away, it’s built solidy to make it suitable in the role of free standing external storage including the fact that it clips securely into the included stand, and it’s performance is decidedly top tier and current even if not quite as state of the art as Microsoft’s velocity architecture and the proprietary Seagate expansion card or the internal M.2 options for the PS5 required for current gen games.The first night I had it I downloaded ~450gb worth of fresh installs in a continuous write operation that lasted around 2.5 hours and didn’t have a single issue, with the enclosure of the drive never seeming to come much above ambient temperatures. Load times are impressive, obviously it’s silent and overall performance is excellent.Bottom line, this is a quality external SSD purpose built to stand along side the current generation of consoles and in this application it’s second to none. If you’re looking for an external SSD for your Xbox Series X|S or PS5, look no further than the D30.

I am happy with my purchase… (good price for actual item) however, item was described as having 2T of digital space… based on a 32gb per game… … took me a while to realize the name says 500 gbt instead… but it’s fine, this works well enough for my uses

A certified 10-GBps cable from retailer with the initials “Bravo Bravo” resolves the connectivity issue.First week impressions for 2TB D30:Not the fastest SSD but reasonable given the 100-dollar-per-TB cost.The included USB-C to USB cable was faulty. PS5 console did not recognizes the D30 when linked to the PS5’s rear USB ports (per Sony instructions). Purchased a quality USB-C to USB certified 10GBps cable locally to resolve the connectivity issue.Saved the PS4 game files to the D30. The PS4 game saves and PS5 files/saves must stay on the console. (The D30 can save PS5 game files but they must be moved back to the console before playing…)Good build quality on the plastic outer case. D30 did not get hot during use (yet). Placed the D30 on a 5×5 heatsink block for insurance.

Es bueno, la velocidad que maneja es buena pese a no contar con un cable de alta velocidad. Lo malo y por lo que le doy 4 estrellas es porque no cumple con la razón principal por la que lo adquirí, no es compatible con Xbox series ya que la velocidad que requiere la consola no la proporciona el disco.
