This is an A+ product line from a reputable, US based manufacture. Ignore low ratings.
Great product. Great company. Kingston deserves your business and money. Their encrypted flash drives are quite expensive, this is not a ploy or gimmick. If you want your product to truly to be secured, it must undergo scrutinous audits, security test, etc. in order to be able to certify and attest it provides a high standard of security. These types of products are the ones you do not want to skimp out on, for reasons far too long to explain. What you must do in order to use this product successfully:1. Read their entire manual/user guide for the specific product on their website. That’s right, the entire thing. Failure to do so is actually setting yourself up for the worst possible situation: complete deletion of your data. No company should be able to reset or even maintain data on your password for these types of products. That’s the entire point, and any review giving less than five stars either didn’t read how to use the product they are buying, or think that because this requires “work” to set up that it should be docked off stars. In other words they are completely unreliable reviews.2. Do every recommendation advised in the user guide. That mean’s making the two different accounts, even if you’re the only one who will be accessing the device. You will not be offered the full features if you do not do this.3. Do not store admin or one time passwords ANYWHERE in digital format. Write these down carefully, optionally multiple times, and store them in a secure location that only YOU will have access to. If you can’t understand why this is necessary, then that is on you and you alone.4. Handle the device with the same care you would if you were holding the Mona Lisa. Avoid any potential scenarios that could damage the device to the best of your ability.4a (optional, but STRONGLY recommended). Buy an additional product that is either the same as this, or a variation of an encrypted flash drive offered by Kingston. Having two secure devices that maintain the same data by being backed up to both drives regularly will exponentially lessen the probability of losing all your important data. If your budget does not allow for this at the current time I understand, but make it a goal to acquire another Kingston encrypted-USB sooner rather than later. If parts of the manual on their site are confusing or hard to understand, email their support team in order to clarify the information. I cannot stress enough that if you want this product to be a lasting solution, you must understand how it works. In conclusion I just want to say that the idea of total and complete security online is a myth. It is not a problem that can be solved by throwing money at it, no matter how much a service markets itself as the silver bullet. This is the reality, and if you are interested in this product because you are privacy conscious, this is the best piece of insight I can give you.

It Works. Easy and Smooth.
Does exactly what is suppose to do. Secure, local storage without me being an uncompensated Beta-tester forbuggy software/hardware. Encryption at a local level, easy to use, dependable. What’s not to like?

Additional security at a resonable cost
I carried one of the original IronKey D2s for over 15 years before it failed. I became aware of Ironkey projects when working for a consulting company. We were dealing with sensitive CAD data that we did not want to transfer over the internet. The CAD data was stored on the IronKey, which was delivered by courier to the customer. While this particular device is a notch below the D2’s level of security, it is more than adequate for consumer use. It can be used to store URLs and associated passwords, medical data, etc.

Perfect Solution Secure USB Storage
I am very pleased. I have tried other encrypted and password protected storage devices. They are either very tricky or don’t really work reliably overtime. This device is exactly what I was looking for all along. After it set up, all I have to do is plug it into the USB drive, click on an icon click on another icon put in the password and I’m good to go. And upload time is very quick. The online set up video is really easy to follow and helpful.

Good for what it does, but …
This is a secure, encrypted drive, if you use it that way. Unfortunately, I use Linux OSs on some of my machines, and the encryption function does not work with Linux. If they get that fixed I would give it 5 stars.

known issue that makes that freezes this product
Had to call customer service to get this one going. There’s a known issue that makes it look like its not working. For us normal people, these technical issues need to be figured out by the manufacturer. Once instructed on what to do, this product works as advertised. In short, if you get stuck, restart your computer and make sure you exit out of Ironkey via the toolbar at the upper right top of the apple acreen!

If you are required to have something stored and encrypted this is as easy to live with as it gets. It isn’t cheap for the storage capacity but it is secure.

Great USB for sensitive data. What I also like is the contact page, which can be read by someone if you lose your USB.One major con, and the reason I can’t give it 5 stars, is that it can be formatted even when password protected. If you lose it, this makes it less likely you’ll get it back. If there were an option to lock the formatting process, a finder wouldn’t be able to use the USB
Useless…please do not buy this hopi g it will hold a projector which is the same size as the one in the image shown, its to weak, mine has fallen over damaging thr projector, completely useless. –
Great piece of kit, easy to use and very secure.
