Great little speaker! Crisp sound – Waterproof – Long Life – SUPER easy Bluetooth connection
I really like this speaker. It’s very small/compact but has a very nice, high quality, clear sound. The Bluetooth connection is SUPER easy to use; I just downloaded the app and it connected immediately – no repeated set up attempts and no fuss! And the Bluetooth connection doesn’t drop – even when switching back and forth between multiple phones/devices which is somewhat rare with these kinds of speakers. It has a strap with a “buckle” so you can strap it on to almost anything and it’s also waterproof which gives me peace of mind since I’m using it in the bathroom to listen to while showering etc. It plays a LONG time on a charge but you can also keep it plugged in all the time with the easy to use USB-C port. It’s not the loudest speaker in the world but given it’s very compact size, I really wouldn’t expect it to be and I’d prefer crisp sound over booming volume. I would NOT recommend this you are trying to find a speaker for a large room or to hear throughout multiple rooms but for smaller areas (like a deck/patio, a smaller bedroom, or a bathroom which is where I am using it), it’s an incredible deal. I got it on sale during prime days but depending on the color and when you buy, I’ve seen it at or near the same low price since. I’m definitely happy with this purchase!

Loud, Bassy, and has good battery life? THIS IS A STEAL!!!
I have to say this speaker is way better than i imagined and that i underestimated how loud it might get, Before I bought it I watched a bunch of reviews saying it was “Quiet” and those were a bunch of lies the sound quality is amazing, the bass is nice and boomy, and has nice low end. Another aspect of this speaker is it’s size it is smaller than i imagined and from what i saw in the videos that i saw Sony really took “Portable” into consideration when designing this speaker. This is a high quality product that i can’t even put into words it is made of recycled plastic material and the texture is smooth and really nice overall, I prioritize bass when it comes to speakers and this really did the job. The battery life is excellent it hasn’t died yet and the lowest its been was 40% which is what it was when it arrived. This is also really good for it’s price I caught it on sale even after christmas and paid $41.23 instead of $59.99. So i do have to say i recommend this to anyone out there looking for a small protable speaker that they can carry around and throw in a bag easily with good sound quality, gets really loud, and has good deep bass that is boomy.

This speaker is smaller than I thought it would be. The quality is top notch. The sound is great; however, I wish it had more volume. In most circumstances it is more than loud enough.

Love the sync feature
Great price for Prime Days. The sync feature is awesome. I wish it was more than just two though. I would buy a lot more if they could be synced to maybe 6,8,10… There doesn’t seem to be any delay between signal/sound. Both speakers are equally loud and synced. I’ve had my phone approx. 45′ away they were still rocking. Higher volume distorts a bit but that’s with nearly every consumer speaker.The sound is great with the exception of the bass. Some songs that aren’t bass-heavy seem to have more bottom end than normal. Songs that are bass-heavy then cause the speakers to rattle quite a bit. I’ve had several other SRS’s that weren’t this bad.Charged in the time the manual said. Holds a charge for a good amount of time as one would expect from Sony.Still happy with the purchase, it might just be helpful to adjust your equalizer if possible.

Awesome little speaker. I’ve had it a few weeks now and I love it. I wanted a small speaker and this is it and it sounds good too. Can’t go wrong with Sony. It feels very solid , build quality is great. Ok this speaker doesn’t get really really loud but it has a very good sound quality at its loudest. Works very well in side doors it is a personal speaker. Outside it is ok but you have to be close to it. for the price it cannot be beat.

Great Indoor/Shower Speaker
I definitely see where other reviews are coming from mentioning some quietness. Compared to other mini speakers I’ve tried like Bose and JBL, this is a bit on the quieter side. However, if your main purpose is an indoor speaker, this will work just fine and is a good value. My daughter lives in a studio apartment so this has been a perfect shower speaker and indoor speaker while she cooks and cleans. If you want an outdoor speaker, I’d recommend something a bit bigger.The speaker itself is easy to transport and sounds good for what it is. It feels sturdy and have not had any issues with it. Charge holds for a while and charges fast as well. Would definitely recommend if you need a small/non-bulky indoor speaker.

Awful Bluetooth connectivity
I received it today and tested it.The sound quality is good but for classic music or podcast is bass heavy.But the issue is, it doesn’t connect easily to different devices. I have to rest the speaker several times at same time forget it from device 1 then after long time may connect to the other device.I haven’t try anything else because I was trying to test it’s Bluetooth connectivity.

REVIEW AFTER TWO WEEKS’ USESony caught thunder in a cup and called it SRS XB-100. This speaker is pretty loud and clear for its size, purpose and price. It is strictly meant for personal use or a small gathering of 6-8 people at best. Yet this little coffee mug outsmarts every other speaker below 5000 Rs.(Note – this speaker is not loud enough for a party. Those who feel that it is not loud enough for personal use may get an audiological evaluation to see if you have noise-induced hearing loss. Since hearing loss from loud noise (above 70 dB / 70% volume) is irreversible, try to reduce the loudness you listen to and follow 60:60 rule.)AUDIO QUALITYVocals are loud, crisp and clear. Bass is good but not over-the-top. Good treble. From my experience, I would rate SRS XB-100 for various purposes as below.Playing music files = 10/10Playing podcasts = 8/10Call quality = 8/10Playing YouTube videos = 7/10Playing Movies & Series = 7/10Generally, 50%-60% volume was sufficient for audio files to be clear and loud enough. Podcasts needed around 70%. YouTube videos, Movies & Series needed 70%-100% and they largely depended on the quality of file as well. Some old BBC documentaries and series played as clear as any music file at 60% volume whereas Avatar, LOTR series and Spiderman needed at least 80% volume.PORTABILITYThe MOST underrated aspect of this speaker. You could take it and hang it anywhere.CHARGING & BATTERY LIFEAbout 4 to 4.5 hours to charge fully. At around 60% volume, SRS XB-100 lasts for nearly 10 hours, 2 hours less than advertised. At full volume, it lasts nearly 6 hours. But it has no fast charging and the chord provided for charging is very small. These are the only cons I felt.SONY MUSIC CENTRE APPIt just tells you how much battery is left, allow connecting with other Sony speakers for stereo effects and updates the software. It serves no other purpose for this speaker.COMPARED TO OTHER SPEAKERS…….From below 5000 range, only Tribit MaxsoundPlus comes close in XB-100’s audio quality. Tribit XsoundGo is not even as good as the good old Sony SRS-XB13 which got replaced by XB-100. To me, XB-100 sounded better than Tribit Stormbox Micro 2, and even Marshall Willen. XB-100 sounds way better even than Sony’s own 24W speaker SRS XE-200.Don’t fall for the gimmick of speakers with more wattage. 1 watt means that speaker can produce maximum 87dB sound within 1 m distance. Whereas as a 20W speaker could produce only 97dB sound within 1 m distance. For comparison, train horns are blown at 90dB. Any sound above 90dB could cause earache and permanently damage hearing. Nobody plays songs and videos at that sound. As the distance increases beyond 1 m, loudness also decreases.So unless you are not looking for a party speaker or something for an outdoor gathering, a speaker below 10W is sufficient. I am NOT talking here about how loud a speaker can get. There is no point in getting a speaker that is just earblastingly loud but lacks any clarity of sound.So yeah. I am completely satisfied with this one. Try it; you too might be.
