Perfect for what I want to use it for
I’m not huge into filming and posting, and I would say I’m low on the skill level for that sort of thing. However, I do a lot of hiking and like to walk everywhere I can when I travel. I enjoy getting a feel for places by watching walking tour videos on YouTube, so I thought it would be cool to record some of my adventures and I’ve seen people using these things to steady their videos and whatnot. I gave it a try and it’s surprisingly easy to use. It has a remote as well as some really cool features. Movement/ angle transition was smooth and definitely created a better quality video. It’s also very portable, not heavy or clunky. I’m even thinking of using it for biking and other adventures. This is super beginner friendly, but delivers high end results.

Lightweight, entry-level gimbal with confusing buttons
I’ve been wanting one of these mult-axis gimbals for a while, so I was excited to try this one out! Here are my thoughts on this item:Pros: It comes packaged in a nice, coated and durable box with inserts like any tech gadget, and would make a suitable gift if not keeping for yourself. There are QR codes for instructional videos, which are helpful albeit rushed. The phone attachment is spring-loaded and adjusts easily to different sized phones, and holds it securely. The thing seems very loose when I first attached my phone, and I thought something was wrong, but when I powered it on, everything zipped into place. The gimbal is lightweight and comfortable to hold, and does exactly what itʻs supposed to do, which is fix the position of the phone on a rotational axis, or in this case, any combination of three axes. The device also comes with a very convenient, but small, folding tripod and also has a standard camera screw base for attachment to other tripods and mounts. I love the small remote that magnetically attaches and detaches from the unit – very convenient. The unit also comes with a soft storage pouch and a USB-C charging cable.Cons: I’m a tech-forward person, but this thing is not intuitive to use. There are only a few buttons, and each button has multiple settings; i.e., 1 press does this, 2 presses does something else, long press, short press, even as many as 5 presses on one button for a certain setting. It would take a long time to memorize the button-press sequences to get what you want. It comes with a quick-start guide, but it is too big to store in the storage bag. It also comes with an app, but I donʻt want yet another app on my phone, and the app does not seem to be very useful other than to look up how many button presses I need to push. Better labeling on the device, or a couple of extra buttons, or even a smaller reference card would all have made this much easier. The instructional video goes over all of the sequences, but rushes through everything all at once. Not a fan of the video. The remote is very handy, but I worry that it could get knocked off easily as the magnetic attraction does not seem very strong. I would probably keep it in my pocket when using it in handheld mode, rather than leave it attached and risk losing it.Overall, it is an affordably-priced gimbal that is good for hobbyists. Itʻs lightweight and portable, and does what it is supposed to do. But there is a learning curve and the buttons/controls are not intuitive.
