AI Sync Box is the absolute best Govee product.
I don’t know why people mess around with the camera based TV backlight systems, when an HDMI pass-through system like this works SO much better. It’s plug and play easy to install, works perfectly with no calibration needed, and it hides out of sight instead of adding an ugly obstruction top dead center of your screen.The backlights themselves are pretty good – although if you have an 85″ TV this *barely* covers, you will have dark spots in the corners where the lights don’t quite reach. They stick well though, I haven’t had any problems with the lights falling off the TV at all.The main attraction though is the AI Sync Box, and the Govee phone app to control it. You can connect up to TEN other Govee lights to it, and map them to zones on the TV with the app so they are all controlled by the AI Sync Box when your TV is on – and now your *entire room* changes color with your TV! I have no interest in going to the theater anymore, my own living room looks more amazing now with all these lights.When adding other lights to your setup, just make sure the Govee product is “Movie Watching Dream View” compatible – some of their products only work with the “Scenic” or “Music” Dream View modes, and won’t work with this product. I’ve found that most of their products are Movie Watching Dream View compatible though – even many of the outdoor lights! The regular Govee light bulbs work great with this.Another cool feature if you are a gamer, the “AI Identification” option in the mobile app can be enabled to add special lighting effects for specific games – make the lights go crazy when you get a pentakill in League of Legends, or make the lights flash colors when you get hit by an item in Mario Kart for example. This only supports a preset list of ~50 games right now, but it has many of the most popular titles in there, and they seem to be expanding support for new games.The HDMI pass-through, the high quality mobile app, and the easy integration with other Govee products makes this the obvious best choice for upgrading your home theater. Govee support is also fantastic, and the mobile app has a built-in social platform which at first I found annoying but has actually been a great source for tips and advice on Govee products from other users.

These lights are incredible, very easy to install, it makes the living room of my house look more fun, the lights change color depending on the colors that come out on the TV, I really loved this product

Amazing Product But Not Perfect
This is a huge upgrade over the T2 camera model I used before. The lights are so much brighter, and of course, the ‘no camera’ feature means no more fighting reflections and always needing to calibrate it.Installation was simple. I ended up using some other edge clamps because the included ones just didn’t work and kept falling off.The lights are super sticky. I even removed them from my one TV and installed them on a newer TV a week after installation.It all looks pretty cool and makes such a big difference. I paired them with my bar lights and floor lamp using Dreamview to add some extra flair. The combination makes the room quite bright, so I don’t even need to use a lamp.The box itself is great too. All formats work as I hoped. Even PC gaming manages 120Hz 4K with 12-bit colour depth. No flashing or loss in quality. The light strip on the box is also a nice addition.If I have to complain about one thing, I wish there was a simple IR remote to switch HDMI formats. Having to open the app, wait for it to load, then wait for it to connect to the unit, then tap on HDMI formats to switch to a different source is a real pain. Takes way too long. Especially if you have an Apple TV/MediaBox connected to the unit with a game console and PC and you’re forever swapping around between them.

Won’t work with built in apps on your tv need either a fire stick or Roku Express
I was a little disappointed to find out it wouldn’t work with app that are on a Roku tv but it works amazingly with my PlayStation and it has a lot of cool features that I appreciate it’s slim easy to set up I did it in like 5 min watching movies with it feels amazing and of their are some problems like the colors not always being the exact color but other than that it’s amazing

Really nice sync box, without any delay!I had some trouble at the beginning with the leds flickering badly. I’ve found out that if you increase the brightness > 75%, they work a LOT better. Like 15% or less brightness will flicker like crazy. Also turn on black bar elimination.For me, the CEC works well. I don’t however use the input switching since all my HDMIs goes trough my AV receiver, then the receiver to the sync box.

EDIT: inputs swapping now fixed via firmware, some hiccups when launching ps5 120hz game it sometimes takes too long but otherwise its great. I would like to note the customer service is 10/10 they went above and beyond with keeping me happy as a customerIt’s great device except for the part that’s most important switching inputs.If you have more than one input and you aren’t using a receiver to depend on signal well good luck making it recognize the device.this has also made me have to unplug my tv it almost bricks the tv sometimes cause tv defaults to it as input but won’t show anything on screen.soft bricks my TV G4 OLED, you heard that right it bugs out so hard it makes the tv freeze on black screen and only way to fix the tv is to unplug it! Not the govee sync box, not turning off the tv, no you need to hard reset the tv, that’s how garbage and tedious this device is.

Great product, much better than my old Nanoleaf 4D set. This actually stays stuck to my TV, but the clips….. Oh don’t get me started on the clips. Please do better and have better adhesive on those. For that reason alone this gets 4 stars instead of 5.

Works really well! Was debating on getting the other Govee lights that have the camera but wasn’t super keen on having that on the top of the TV – the other option was the Philips one but the price was too out of my budget. If you’re in between those I would recommend these – cheaper option and works really well!! Have to use it through HDMI. We watch everything through our PS5 system so we’ve had no issues – everything syncs well while gaming and watching shows/movies. We also purchased the govee lamp and it syncs perfectly with it as well!

For the price you’re paying, it’s quite disappointing. The app is terrible, and the overall experience is poor. The build quality is okay, but the main idea of projecting screen colour onto the back wall isn’t executed well. Instead, I recommend buying the one with a camera.
