Great price for a quality lens.
The lens is well-made, has a good weight to it, excellent image quality, and great bokeh. It’s suitable for both portraits and landscapes, and manual focus is quite easy to use.

Sweet little lens
Lens mounted on a Sony a7ii and shoots pictures like a fine vintage lens. Fully manual with no auto focus and no electrical contact points with camera body so no f/stop or shutter speed readout on the screen or viewfinder. If you are not familiar with a manual shooting this may not be the lens for you. OTOH if you want to learn manual lens shooting, $90 is not a budget breaker to start with. The pics are very nice with an old school vintage look. The bokeh is excellent wide open and the sweet spot is probably about f/5.6 to 8.0. The build quality is far better than some of the far more expensive name brand lens I have.

I specifically bought this to photograph my own kitten. The lens is very lightweight, and the lens cap locks in securely. Excellent value for money! Customer service was very prompt and efficient in answering my questions. Great product! I’ll probably check out this store again for other lenses next time. (Here’s a picture of my cat, haha!)

My Favorite Lens for Indoor Wrestling
This lens is a great value for the money. It feels like it is built like a tank and seems like it 95% glass and 5% metal…….It is beefy for sure.It is my go to lens for shooting indoor wrestling because the max aperture helps a lot when lighting conditions are less than perfect (like most high school gyms are)It is manual focus and manual focus takes a bit to get used to.It might not be great for action that moves over large distances as manually focusing might be difficult, but for wrestling it works great for me.At F1.4 it creates a ton of depth of field, lines on the wrestlers a crisp, almost like a silhouetteIn the attached photo my setup was thisLumix G100 cameraBrightin Star 50mm F1.4ISO 800Shutter speed 1/640No post processing

Disappointed by Unreliable Autofocus
I had high hopes for this 50mm lens, but the autofocus performance is a dealbreaker. It’s not just slow or inaccurate—it’s unreliable. Far too often, the lens fails to lock focus entirely, leaving me staring at a blurry mess through the viewfinder. Even in decent lighting conditions, it hunts endlessly or gives up altogether.The most frustrating part? The only way to get it working again is to power cycle the camera. That’s right—turn it off, turn it back on, and hope it decides to cooperate. This isn’t just an occasional hiccup; it’s a recurring issue that makes the lens practically unusable for fast-paced or spontaneous shooting.For a prime lens that’s supposed to be a go-to for portraits and everyday photography, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I expected reliability and consistency, but instead I got a lens that feels like it’s constantly throwing tantrums. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Might cause damage
The lens itself is actually good but upon attaching it to my camera I noticed the lens making a shaking noise which is because none of the screws in the back of the lens were tightened at all ! I am very upset with the fact that this item may not have been inspected properly before being packaged and shipped to me. I would love to give this product a higher rating however the seller or manufacturer need to do something to rectify this situation.

Got the 50MM AF 1.4 for fuji in used condition, description said good, the box was opened of course but the prime itself was mint.Soft of sharp at 1.4, but I’ll have to test it more

It is a wonderful lens with the f1.4 sharp version. I used it with my Sony camera and it works great. The size is perfect. The package is well protected. The final version is as good as the other lens of this brand. I use it mostly for indoor shooting and sometimes outdoor. It works both!

Estoy muy contento con este lente, apenas lo recibi hoy y de inmediato lo probé, la profundidad de campo es espectacular, los colores bastante fieles, en blanco y negro impresionante. El lente es de construcción metalica nada en plastico, pesa más que la camara aunque es realmente pequeño imagino que el peso tiene que ver con los cristales, en relación a lo que costo, 2 mil pesos, es una compra excelente aunque sea solo por diversión o curiosidad, pero al ver los resultados te comienza a girar la cabeza con las posibilidades para las tomas fotográficas, en fin, estoy como niño con un super juguete.

Cannot believe the amazing quality you get with this lens. Super sharp even wide open at 1.8f. Its construction is all metal and extremely durable. This does make it heavier, but I like this in comparison to a lens that I have to baby. I can use this daily and not worry. The value is awesome and I look forward to purchasing more Brightin Star lenses!
