Good sound, design but…
Bose has always been known for good sound -I must say, I am a bit disappointed – the noise reduction is average, perhaps it’s just older technology.The main downside is the need for a battery – If you forget to charge it, or the battery dies, they will not workWould be better if the headphone still worked (without the noise reduction)

A little background. My wife insisted on a ‘on the ear’ headset with ANC. Guess what, other than cheaper sets that are imported, the only name brand headset that met that specification was the same headset my wife already owned, so I went into a search for a backup for her QC3 from 2006.Five stars rating. Consider this item is 19 years old and their very responsive, almost Applesque, customer service. Firstly., there headset looks new, or almost new anyway. I have no idea where a basically plastic item spent the last 19 years or the refurbishment must have replaced all the viewable parts. I currently have a working version of this same item that I purchased in 2006 and bought this one as a backup. This ‘backup’ has a better speaker sound than my other one that I purchased new and have kept carefully clean in a no smoking house. The one minus I found with the product delivered turned out to be a plus. The battery that came with it failed to hold a charge. After speaking with the guy who actually refurbished this headset, I was immediately contacted by their customer service who ‘same day’ sent out a corrected battery. It is charging now and looks good. All in all, 5 stars. A great, honest, merchant who keeps alive a 20 year old product from Bose with a very prompt ‘customer oriented’ customer service.I am going back to check their website to see if I can find some older products I have wanted in the past that have been refurbished. I’ll do that because I have all confidence that what they sell actually works and if it does not, they will make it right. All of the interaction I had was directly with the merchant and only used Amazon for a call/reply process.PS: I was not shocked about the battery and was pleased to discover that this particular battery is now bring sold as a refurbished item by several merchants on Amazon, and can be readily found on the internet, (i.e. Ebay).I was a little trepidatious about buying a backup for my wife’s phone, but discovered that this transaction was worth the risk and that I found a great merchant for the older hardware I am very familiar with. Lastly, for $32 I added a wireless headset plug-in so I do not have to be wired to make a phone call or listen to a video or music.
