Arrived with packaging opened.
Arrived and the apple box the AirPods come in was damaged and clearly had been opened. I did not test the AirPods as I felt uncomfortable using them due to the packaging they arrived in. My husband ordered these as Christmas present but we have decided to return them as I am nervous to use them when the box has clearly been opened. The actual air pods look oaky but we didn’t open them further just because I was nervous based on the packaging. We will order straight from Apple next time.

UPDATE:these have grown on me. they’re very comfortable in my ears (no aches) & they have lasted me almost 2 weeks without charging (using 2 times a day for roughly 1.5 – 2 hours total use time). these are not noise cancelling, so I can hear the gym’s music overtop of mine (but it can be LOUD in the building) but the sound quality is great! keeping at 4 stars because the price is ridiculous, BUT I do love the buds!PROS:ordered & delivered in less than 24 hours.shorter side pieces – half the length of the 1st gen.fits my ears & doesn’t hurt (will update after a few more uses).awesome quality sound, I find them better than the 1st gen.“C” charger port (I have the 15 Pro Max iPhone so I’m using the same charger for all my Apple devices now).light is on the front of the case instead of the insideCONSthe price.cannot use a setting to tap the earbud to change a song like the 1st gen, BUT can set to tap a bud for muting/answering/ending calls.when opening the case next to my phone or opening up the device in my Bluetooth list, it doesn’t show how much percentage the buds & case are at. BUT if I go to the widget screen on my cell phone, I can see the battery charge that way.decently happy with my purchase so far, but I love my 1st gen buds more (purchased these ones as my other ones served me very well, just stopped working). I see you can buy the 2nd gen that look like the 1st gen, but I thought I’d give the 4th ones a try to see the difference. the shape of the buds are slightly bigger than the 1st gen, so again I’ll update after a few more uses for the comfort level. Coming from airpods 2, it took me a while to get used to in terms of taking out the airpods from the case and fit in the ears. But after having used it for a week, the fit feels perfectly comfortable in my ears. I have the non-ANC version because I already have a pair of airpods pro 2, so I won’t be able to tell about how good or bad the ANC on this thing is, but if you’re someone like me who works from home and doesn’t really go out in a crowd much, you aren’t missing anything. The sound stage and the bass response is a massive upgrade from Airpods 2. The spatial audio is so amazing in this thing. It has that deep bass that doesn’t really thump into the ears, but makes a huge difference while listening to music or watching a movie, just the way I like it. I’d even go as far as to say that if ANC doesn’t matter to you, this base level Airpods 4 with no ANC sounds even better than my Airpods pro 2. If you were looking for a review of non-ANC version and were thinking if you should go for it, I’d say just buy it, you won’t be missing it.
